Juicebox Users¶

User details can be changed in the Juicebox Admin or using the Client Admin API. The Juicebox Admin is deprecated and will be replaced by an alternative admin at some point.

Basic Settings for Users¶

Uid:	This is a unique ID for this user that is set automatically by Juicebox.
Email address:	Must be unique and is used when the user logs in. Email is case-insensitive.
Password:	Set by the user when they accept an invitation to join Juicebox. We have no way of seeing a user’s password but it can be reset by clicking the “this form” link.
First name:	The user’s first name that they gave us when they accepted their invitation.
Last name:	The user’s last name that they gave us when they accepted their invitation.

Extra Settings¶

Extra institutions:
Client:	All users must have a client.
Apps:	A list of apps the user can access. They can only be assigned apps that belong to the same Client they belong to.
Extra:	A json object that controls what data the user can see. This is used by data services to apply filters to the data a user can see.
	Used only in the HealthStream environment. Do not set anything here.

Permission Settings¶

Superuser status:
Active:	Controls whether or not the user can log in. Rather than delete users we set active to False
Staff status:	Controls whether the user can log in to the admin. Should not be set for any non-Juice users.
	Controls whether the user can log into the admin and change anything. There should only be one admin user per environment and access is limited. Should not be set for any non-Juice users.
Demo User:	Controls whether the user sees anonymous data in their apps. This requires apps to be anonymized using Anonymizing Ingredients. Demo users are used when we want to show how an application works but not reveal the exact data that is powering it.
Groups:	Should not be set and can be ignored for regular Juicebox users.
User permissions:
	Should not be set and can be ignored for regular Juicebox users.

Important Dates¶

All these dates are set automatically and should not be changed.

User Profile¶

All these details are set automatically when a user signs up and can be changed by the user on their user profile page.
