This release has nicer handling of collapsing and expanding slices and a cleanup of how slices track what is selected. The selection cleanup fixes issues we’ve been seeing where clearing the filter pill on a slice doesn’t always successfully clear a selection. It also lets us do some new things like build parallel ranked lists where your selection is maintained when you switch from list to list and paginate tables and card slices when there are 000s of items.

This release also changes how we manage user sessions. We can now set different session durations by client. The default session duration used to be 14 hours and it remained even if you closed your browser. The new default session duration is 14 days (but this can be changed for each client). Sessions expire when your browser closes or if the user has been inactive for the session duration amount of time. Users will receive a popup message when there approximately a half hour remaining on their session. If they move their mouse or perform any activity their session will be extended.

Lastly, have you ever wanted to clear the query cache for an app but didn’t necessarily want to clear the cache for _all_ apps? You can now do this via an API call. This will manifest itself in Citrus in the future, so that we can automatically clear an app’s cache when loading new data via an ETL job.

Vagrant Environment

The local development environment has changed for 3.2.

If you already have the repo cloned, you’ll need to initialize and update the new Git submodules:

This will update your salt/formulas/juicebox-formula directory to contain the new Salt formula for installing and configuring Juicebox.

We’ve upgraded our environment from Ubuntu 14.04 to Ubuntu 16.04, their newest LTS release. This requires a full destroy and recreate of the Vagrant environment:

• To support dynamic loading of the stacks, template names now get automatically prefixed with the stack slug (if they aren’t already). Any template names set in the config (either through stack.yaml or by the data service) will need to be updated.
